AN APPOINTMENT

It was Sunday and sunny day. The sky was blue. Everything looked bright and fresh. But there was a young, good-looking man, 23 years of age who was standing anxiously in front of Hark rock Cafe. He glanced at his watch every minute and every hour. In fact, he was waiting for someone. Someone he had been acquainted with for the past 2 months but he had not seen her before.

Two minutes passed. His face frew sharp. His mind went back to how he found and met her through the internet. They had been chatting almost every day through the internet. However, Simone had refused his entire request to send her photograph.

Suddenly, Destiny's heart leaped sky high. A girl in blue was coming towards Hard Rock Cafe. Destiny was told by Simone that she would be wearing blue shirt and blue jeans. And the girl was rather fat and not good looking. Destiny was disappointed. When the girl come closer, Destiny noticed that the girl was not wearing a black pin that Simone was supposed to wear. Luckily, the girl was not Simone and she was just a customer of Hark Rock Cafe.

Destiny decided to give up and he wanted to go home. At that moment, however, there was a lady standing a few meters away from Destiny. She was looking at him. The lady was in blue too and she was wearing black pin. Her figure was long and slim. She had an oval face, pearly white teeth. Her eyes were limpid. The most attractive was the two dimples appeared on her cheek while she smiled.

"If I am not mistaken. She is Simone," he thought. Without hesitation, he walked closer to her. Destiny could hardly talk and he was carried away by the beauty of the lady.

"Good afternoon, I am......I am Destiny. Are you......," finally. Destiny managed to say a few words.

"Good afternoon. Yes, I am." Simone answered calmly.

The, they had lunch in the cafe. At first, both of them were silent. Destiny was very nervous. His heart was beating wildly. He did not know what to say at all. It was so quiet. Nevertheless, Simone broke the silence. "Sorry," she continued, "for being late." The they began to chat and they had a wonderful lunch time.

SOME INTERESTING PLACE IN KUALA LUMPUR

Kuala Lumpur, known as the heart of Peninsular Malaysia is my choice for a holiday destination. It is one of the busiest city in Asia. Historically, it was founded by Yap Ah Loy. One of the most pleasant place to visit is the National Museum. It is a magnificent building based on Malay-style architecture. the museum displays a lot of antiques such as vases, furniture and ancient weapons. Inside the museum there is a shop selling souvenirs.

At night I would like to visit a busy street. It is the Petaling Street or we call it Chinatown. It offers a great variety of handicraft of imitation goods. The goods are cheaper if we bargain. There are also many delicious local food to try, as well as drinks. I am sure everyone will enjoy them.

If you are collector of handicraft, you can visit the Karyaneka Handicraft center. the center offers a great variety of handicrafts. there is also a Chinese temple named Thean Hou Temple. It is a very large temple. The structure of the temple is based on Chinese-style architecture the temple sells a great variety of small puppet toys that are made from flour and mixture of colors. The size of each puppet is as big as a thumb.

Another interesting place is the Genting Highlands. It is the most developed among all the various hill resorts in Malaysia. From there, I can get a panoramic view of the whole Kuala Lumpur. The air is very windy and cool. It has various amusement spots such as the roller coaster, 3 Dimension Cine and many others. It has an articial lake for boating.

In short, Kuala Lumpur is my ideal gateway for a holiday.

A NIGHT IN A DESERT HOUSE

As I was returning home after visiting a relative in an out of the way Kampung, one afternoon a few years ago, it began to rain very heavily. My way lay through a thick jungle and some rubber estates that had been deserted because of the "Emergency". On approaching a stately two-stories bungalow, which was near my path, I decided to wait in it until the rain had stopped.

I pushed my bicycle into the porch and entered the deserted house. One of the rooms upstairs still wet. I sat down, waiting for the rain to stop.

I waited there till well after sunset, but the rain still kept pouring down. I lost all my hope of returning home that night. As I sat there, I started to think of my mother. I knew she would be worried about me. After a while, I fell asleep. I did not know how long I had slept, but when I opened my eyes, the rain had stopped. There was a strong wind that occasionally blew with such fury that it crashed against the doors and windows of the house with terrific noise.

I lay against the wool. Suddenly, I heard the sounds of men's voices in the distance. Probably they were people taking shelter for the night in this bungalow. Another possibility was that they were some travelers like me. I remembers that the surrounding jungle was full of terrorists. The only fear was that they might take away my bicycle. Luckily for me nobody approached the house.

Presently, I heard the howling sound of many wild animals. I had expected one or another of these animals to push open the door of my room.

Later that night, the wild animals stopped howling. Now, the wind made the doors opened and shut. This reminded me of ghosts, for I had heard the ghosts usually haunt large deserted buildings like this. I was praying that the morning might find me safe and sound.

The night was over and I was able to resume my journey home.
